Hands-on training is regarded as an essential part of the education of fusion scientists and engineers: to learn the necessary skills for future use, to get confronted with the experimental problems, or to visualize the theoretical knowledge and theory taught in the conventional courses.

However, facilities with the prime goal of education are scarce or scattered over different universities and research institutes. At Eindhoven University of Technology just recently a brand-new 100 m2 hands-on plasma lab, with 8 different setups, has been established to meet exactly the above mentioned educational goals.
